Ji.hlava30: Thinking through film

What all is happening and unfolding between the world, the camera, and the audience? This edited film, composed of footage from the festival’s “Minutes from Jihlava to the Mind” series, masterclass recordings, and interviews, weaves together the reflections of guests at the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival on how meaning is created, what film representation does to reality, and how rhythm, editing, sound, and creative choices transform our perception of the reality being depicted. The filmmakers’ perspectives, methods, and questions about the nature of the documentary come together in a reflection on film as a means of understanding and as a space where one can question, discover connections, and rethink the world and one’s own view of it.
